Jose Mourinho ‘Reaches Deal in Spanish Tax Dispute’     Manchester United manager José Mourinho is reported to have reached a deal with the Spanish state over a long-running tax dispute. He was accused of owing nearly €3.3m in undeclared image rights revenue for 2011 and 2012, when he was Real Madrid manager – an allegation he disputed. Spain’s El Mundo newspaper reported he had agreed to pay a fine of €2m (£1.8m; $2.3m). Mr Mourinho said earlier he had paid all the taxes he owed. El Mundo also reported that he had accepted a one-year suspended jail sentence. But sources close to the manager said no prison term had been imposed or accepted.    Defecting from one party to another would will not shield politician from prosecution : Magu tells Nigerians Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr Ibrahim Magu, says politicians defecting from one party to another would not be shielded from prosecution by the anti-graft agency. Speaking during a parley with editors in Lagos on Wednesday, Magu said there was no hiding place for such politicians in the fight against corruption by EFCC. 2,000 teachers, health workers die in North-East ON SEPTEMBER 5, 2018 ABUJA—Organised labour, yesterday, said insurgency in the North-East has killed over 2000 workers, especially teachers and health workers, carrying out their legitimate duties in the region. NBA chairman killed in Enugu    SEPTEMBER 5, 2018 NEWS WATCH— THE branch chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, for Obollo Afor, Udenu Local Government Area of Enugu State, Mr Emmanuel Emeka Agundu has been murdered. Agundu was lured out of his base at Obollo Afor to Nsukka Local Government Area in the state where he was shot severally at Nru area of the town. An attempt was on his life over a month ago when some unknown gunmen shot him in the head but he was revived in hospital.
